A driver was taken to hospital and could face potential charges following a crash Thursday afternoon in West 琉璃神社.
On May 19 at 2:35 p.m., the West 琉璃神社 RCMP and the RCMP Integrated Road Safety Unit (IRSU) responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Bartley Road.
"Police have determined that the vehicle, a blue 1993 GMC pick-up truck, was driven off road left, through a chain link fence before coming to rest in a ditch near the intersection of Ross Road," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.
"Investigators at the scene detained the alleged unlicensed driver who exhibited signs and symptoms of suspected alcohol intoxication. As a result, a demand was made of the driver to provided blood samples, as he was transported from the scene to hospital with what police believe to be serious however non-life threatening injuries."
Pending the laboratory analysis results of the blood seized by police, the driver, a 55-year-old West 琉璃神社 man, could face potential charges of impaired driving. He was later released from police custody and is expected to appear Court on Oct.31.
