New emergency placement centre for youth opening in Vernon

A ribbon cutting of a vital new home for children in Vernon is coming in May.

The Cedar House, which is a new emergency placement resource centre for youth and children, is opening on Thursday, May 2.

The North Okanagan Youth and Family Services organization is behind the house鈥檚 development, as they seek more options for youth in the North Okanagan community to feel safe.

The ribbon cutting begins at noon on May 2, from 4100 26th Street, near MacDonald Park.

NOYFSS provides a broad range of social programs aimed at protecting the healthy development of children, youth and families.
