A wildfire burning near Peachland remains about the same size on the morning of June 7 as the night before, but is still deemed by BC Wildfire Service as 鈥極ut of Control鈥.
A rep from the service told Capital News that the Pigeon Creek fire situation in the area is 鈥減retty much the same as yesterday鈥, and that there are 60 personnel dispatched to battle the blaze today. A wet line is currently being established.
It is still at 33 hectares, with minimal growth since June 5.
Helicopters and skimmers are assisting the ground crew. Smoke can still be seen from Hwy. 97C, though there is no immediate danger to travel on the highway.
