Penticton RCMP say the man involved in Wednesday鈥檚 fatal shooting at a Creston Avenue apartment has been released without charges.

鈥淭his was an isolated event and not a random act because both parties were known to each other,鈥 said Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth of the Penticton RCMP. 鈥淲e do not feel the public is at risk. All of our police resources remain fully engaged in this ongoing investigation.

鈥淢embers of the Penticton RCMP serious crime unit, general investigation section, targeted enforcement and forensic identification sections continue to investigate the matter.鈥

RCMP were called to a residence at 998 Creston Ave., near Comox Street, at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday for shots being fired at the residence.
