Telus to invest $40 million in 琉璃神社/West 琉璃神社 service

Push to connect more home and businesses to Telus fibre optic network expansion.

TELUS will invest $40 million in new infrastructure and facilities in 琉璃神社 and West 琉璃神社 this year to connect more homes and businesses directly to the company's gigabit-enabled fibre optic network, increase wireless capacity to meet  growing demand, and to improve the reach, speed and capacity of its  high-speed Internet.

Thenvestment is part of an overall commitment by Telus to invest $4.5 billion in British Columbia through 2019 to extend fibre optic infrastructure directly to thousands of homes and businesses in rural and urban communities. By the end of 2019, Telus will have invested $51 billion across the province since the year 2000.

鈥淥ur massive fibre optic network build in 琉璃神社 and West 琉璃神社 is nearing completion,鈥 said Steven Jenkins, Telus general manager for the Southern Interior.

"Telus has deep roots in these communities, and is committed to making the investment needed to bring our neighbours world-class telecommunications services to keep people, businesses, health care facilities, and educators connected.

"Perhaps most importantly, we remain committed to supporting our community during a crisis, whether that鈥檚 ensuring our wireless networks are up and running so people can stay up to date on alerts, or that our local evacuations shelters are stocked with food, water and the comforts of home.鈥
