With some sold results over the last two weekends, the Okanagan Athletics have bolstered their B.C. Premier Baseball League playoff hopes for 2017.
The A鈥檚 are coming off three wins over the hometown White Rock Tritons and have now won seven of their last eight games.
Evan Bailey鈥檚 club (15-23) is currently in a battle with the Coquitlam Reds and Victoria Eagles for the eighth and final playoff spot.
In White Rock, Keaton Mandryk threw a six-hit shutout Saturday as the A鈥檚 opened the series with a 6-0 win. Dylan Faulkner had two hits, two stolen bases and scored twice in the victory.
In Game 2, the A鈥檚 prevailed 4-3. Jackson Borne yielded just five hits in 6 2/3 innings for his fourth win, while Adam Sarafinchin picked up the save. Luigi Russo had two of the A鈥檚 five hits.
In Sunday鈥檚 opener, the Tritons scored three runs in the seventh for 7-6 victory. Jackson Borne had three hits and scored twice in the loss.
Okanagan closed the series with an 8-2 win. Starter Carter Morris threw a complete game eight hitter for the win. Colton Schaper-Kotter, Marcus Strother and Jaden Parsons each had two hits apiece.
The A鈥檚 return to action Monday, July 3 for two games against the Blue Jays in North Delta, a make-up doubleheader for a rainout in April.
