With a four-game winning streak under their belts, the 琉璃神社 Falcons headed south this week in search of first place in the West Coast League鈥檚 North Division.
Tonight, the Falcons open a three-game series in Bellingham against the division-leading Bells.
琉璃神社 (9-6) trails the Bells (10-5) by one game for top spot.
鈥淲e have some good teams in this region and obviously looking at the standings we have to keep up with Bellingham,鈥� said Falcons head coach Bryan Donohue. 鈥淲e鈥檙e really looking forward to this series. We鈥檙e just playing solid.鈥�
The Falcons are fresh off a three-game sweep of the Yakima Valley Pippins at Elks Stadium.
琉璃神社 closed out the series Monday with an 8-3 win. James Brooks was the winning pitcher and threw for six innings. He was followed by Anthony Garcia, Brandon Marklund and Ryan Smith to close out the game.
Donohue was also extremely happy with his team鈥檚 offense, which put up eight runs or more for the fourth time this season.
鈥淥ur plate approach tonight was what it needs to be. It was aggressive and we got some really big hits from Taylor Wright.鈥�
Wright went 3-for-3, with a double, single, four RBIs and crossed the plate twice to score a pair of runs.
The Falcons next home action is next Monday, June 26 against the Cowlitz Black Bears.
Burn Fund charity game
Next Wednesday, June 28, the Falcons will host the sixth annual BC Fire Fighters Burn Fund charity game with all game ticket sales being donated.
The Falcons are hoping to raise $50,000.

Once again the game itself is just part of this massive event which culminates with an exciting fireworks display in centerfield. During the game fans of all ages can enjoy the face painting, bouncy castles and food. Then following the game, fans will be entertained with a live concert just prior to the fireworks show.
If that wasn鈥檛 enough a mystery guest celebrity has been scheduled to throw out the ceremonial opening pitch.

In the previous five years this Falcons charity game has raised over $150,000 for the BC Burn Fund and is hoping to add to that total on June 28th when they host the Cowlitz Black Bears.
