A pair of 琉璃神社 Rockets are on the radar for Hockey Canada鈥檚 national team for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo.
Centre Dillon Dube and defenceman Cal Foote are among 42 players who have earned invitations to Canada鈥檚 summer development camp, July 29 to Aug. 5 in Plymouth, Michigan.
Dube will be vying to crack Canada鈥檚 roster for the second straight year. The Cochrane, AB native helped Team Canada to a silver medal last January, picking up three assists in seven games.
Foote will be making his first trip to the development camp. The 19-year-old blueliner had six goals and 57 points for the Rockets in 2016-17.
Foote is also ranked by Central Scouting as a first-round prospect for this weekend鈥檚 NHL entry draft in Chicago.
Of the 42 invitees, nine are returning players from last year鈥檚 squad.
The final selection camp will be held in December, with 22 players being named to the roster.
The world junior championship begins Boxing Day in Buffalo.
Meanwhile, three other Rockets have been invited to Hockey Canada summer camps.
Goaltender Roman Basran and defenceman Kaedan Korczak will attend the U17 development camp, while forward Nolan Foote will head to the U18 camp in advance of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in August.
