ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Rockets drop back-and-forth game against Spokane

The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Rockets fell 6-5 to the Spokane Chiefs on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

 

Goals were aplenty in Spokane on Tuesday, Nov. 5 as the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Rockets fell to the Chiefs 6-5.

After a scoreless first period, both teams got their offence going in the second period.

Spokane started the scoring early in the frame when Brayden Crampton for the first time this season. And just 21 seconds later, Smyth Rebman found the back of the net to double the Chiefs lead.

A few minutes later, Rockets captain Max Graham scored his sixth goal of the campaign, assisted by Andrew Cristall and Tij Iginla.

ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç tied the game at the 10:21 mark of the period when Kayden Longley found the back of the net, with helpers from Jakub Stancl and Cristall.

In the second half of the period, Spokane's special teams came alive as they got power play goals from Crampton and Berkly Catton, making it 4-2.

The two teams continued to go back and forth in the third period as at the 5:30 mark, Cristall scored to bring the Rockets within one. Assisted by Iginla and Graham.

But 74 seconds later, Will McIssac scored for Spokane to regain their two-goal lead.

ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç brought it within one again when Marek Rocak scored his first goal of the season, but the Rockets would be one goal short all night long.

Late in the game, Chiefs' Shea Van Olm scored his 16th goal of the season into the empty net to make it 6-4.

Cristall added a second goal with 10 seconds left to go to make it 6-5 but that's as close as Rockets would get.

Jake Pilon suffered the loss for ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç, making 21 saves. 

With his four-point night, Cristall has 20 points in seven games this season. He also became the seventh player in team history to record 300 career points and did so in just 198 games played.

The Rockets are next in action on Friday, Nov. 8 when they welcome the Saskatoon Blades to Prospera Place. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
