Bringing together stunning scenery, hopping craft breweries, boutique eateries and like-minded active people, Hoodoo Adventures is hosting the inaugural Kettle Valley Station Pub (KVS) Beer Run on Saturday, June 3 in Penticton.
Sponsored by the Kettle Valley Station Pub, the race features a 10 kilometre course, down the scenic Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR), with stops at, and samples from, local craft breweries, including tastings from the Cannery Brewing Company, Bad Tattoo Brewing, Tin Whistle Brewing, Barley Mill Brew Pub and Highway 97 Brewery.
鈥淭his is the launch of what we believe will become a real signature experience for the area,鈥 said Lyndie Hill, owner of Hoodoo Adventures.
To enhance the fun, participants are encouraged to wear costumes. Runners must pre-register, by June 1 at .
The KVS Pub Beer Run kicks off with assigned shuttles starting at 9:30 a.m., from the Penticton Info Centre/South Okanagan Events Centre parking lot out to Square One Hops Farm. Stationed at the start line, Tin Whistle Brewing will offer the first, heady tasting of fresh Penticton brews before runners peel away for the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail heading south into Penticton. As they drop into downtown Penticton, they鈥檒l visit Cannery Brewing Company, and then make a unique 鈥渟ustenance stop鈥 at Tacos Del Norte and Burger 55 to refuel. Energized, participants will propel themselves past Hoodoo Adventures, enjoying their third tasting from Barley Mill Brew Pub en route, before making their way down Lakeshore to Bad Tattoo Brewing. Then they鈥檒l head for Highway 97 Brewery, before finishing at the Kettle Valley Station Pub with live music, more beer, costume judging and swag bag pick-up.
Community involvement and promoting youth outdoor programming is important to Hoodoo Adventures. 100 per cent of the net proceeds from the KVS Pub Beer Run will be donated to the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society (YORS), a subsidy program that funds outdoor recreation opportunities for schools in the Okanagan.
鈥淲e are really excited about this new event. The Beer Run is an amazing way to showcase the up-and-coming craft brewery scene here in Penticton, while promoting fitness and raising money for a great local cause,鈥 says Lyndie Hill, Owner, Hoodoo Adventures. 鈥淲e鈥檝e had such a great response to the event on social media, within the community and beyond.鈥
