Piche paces Lightning at KAJ meet

Led by another outstanding performance by Pierson Piche, the Liquid Lightning set nine club records and swam to 87 best times at the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç AquaJets May long course meet at H2O.

Led by another outstanding performance by Pierson Piche, the Liquid Lightning set nine club records and swam to 87 best times at the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç AquaJets May long course meet at H2O.

Piche swam to seven new club records in the 50 breast, 100 back, 400IM, 50, 400, 800 and 1500 free. He won second place overall for boys 12-13 years, taking first in the 50 breast, 400 and 800 free, and 400IM, second in the 100 back and 1500 free and third in 50 free.

Three Lightning athletes swam to 100 per cent best times. Liam Collie posted three third-place finishes in 100 fly, 200IM and 1500 free and a second in the 200 fly. He dropped just over one minute in his 1500 free. Alex Strobel, who placed third in 200 fly, and Enrica Guidi also swam to all best times.

Swimmers who were one shy of 100 per cent best were Olivia McCarten-Dorantes who shaved 10 seconds off her 200IM, Jacklyn Pengilly and Madison Wudrich who each took off 11 seconds in their 200IM, as well as Kaitie Mcconechy and Madison Seeley.

Other strong swims were had by varsity swimmer Kassidie Cornell, Victoria Koehle, Jacob Piche, Avery Simpson, and Ava Toyata who set a new club record in the 50 fly. Nathaniel Hees set a club record in the 200 fly placing second, while Kaleigh Reese was second in the 200 free and third in the 100 breast.
