The Summerland Minor Hockey Association will celebrate Canucks Day in the community on Oct. 6. 

This event will take place at the Summerland Arena from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will provide players with hockey fun and opportunities to learn from top-level players.

Special guests for the event will be Vancouver Canucks mascot Fin and former NHL goaltender Kirk McLean.

鈥淲e are beyond excited to host Canucks Day in Summerland,鈥� said Cam Barker, vice-president of the Summerland Minor Hockey Association. 鈥淭his event provides a unique opportunity for our young players to interact with their heroes and learn from their experiences. We believe it's a day they will remember for a long time.鈥�

The community can visit the arena and cheer on the local players, enjoy the atmosphere and perhaps take a photo with Fin and McLean.

This event shows the commitment of the Summerland Minor Hockey Association and the Canucks to fostering young talent and promoting the sport.
