The Columbia Shuswap Selkirks Swim Club hosted the 2025 Askew's Shuswap Splash meet at the SASCU Recreation Centre, Feb. 7-9 2025.

Swimmers splashed and dashed during a successful swim meet hosted by the Columbia Shuswap Selkirks Swim Club.

The 2025 Askew's Shuswap Splash meet took place Feb. 7-9 at the SASCU Recreation Centre. The event, hosted by the Selkirks, brought more than 100 swimmers to the community, with teams from Vernon, Penticton, 琉璃神社, Summerland and Nelson.

Under the direction of head coach Barry Healey and a group of  dedicated parent volunteers, the club organized what is for some members their favourite swim meet of the year.

"With a focus on fast paced swimming but also a fun and supportive environment the, Selkirks swim meet is often full of cheering, smiling and laughing," reads a media release from the local club. "This year was no different; many, many of the athletes were able to swim to a best time with a large number of young swimmers
(as young as 8 years old) winning their first medal."

The club thanked community sponsors for their support.
