ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç United and KU/Junior Heat teams were busy in Thompson Okanagan Youth Soccer League action last weekend.
Here’s a look at some of the results:
• U13 girls
ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç United Storm went undefeated during a weekend double header. Saturday brought a convincing 3-0 shutout victory over Vernon United. Strong offence lead by Kaedence Mollin, with a hat-trick, Makena Marble and Malyssa Watson, along with solid defence helped secure the win.
On Sunday, the Storm posted a 4-0 victory over the local Demolition U13 girls. Kaedence Mollin scored twice, Paris Kirk scored once and set up two other goals, while Julia Adamson added a single. Strong defence led by Kiera Swift, Mekhila Brown and Lily Kolochuk was the difference.
The KU/Junior Heat defeated Kamloops 2-1 on Saturday. ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç goals were scored by Piper Guidi after a rebound shot from Sarah Donick and by Sophia Clancy. On Sunday, the KU/Junior Heat won 4-0 over Vernon United. Olivia Lawrie, with a hat-trick, and an amazing goal scored off a curve ball on a corner kick by Shae Taylor tallied for the Heat.
• U13 boys
KU Warriors (Yann) defeated KU boys A (Arruda) 5-2. Jaeke Schlachter, with two, Alec Miller, Oaklen Kowal and Eli Harris scored for the Warriors, while Ethan Warnes had both goals for KU A.
On Saturday, the Warriors made their way up to Salmon Arm, and lost to a strong Shuswap team 4-1. Weston Husch scored for KU late in the second half.
In their third game of the weekend, the Warriors shutout KU A 3-0 on Sunday. Riley Woolfall, Jack Millikin and Jaeke Schlachter were the goal scorers.
• U14 boys
KU Spartans (Elkin) played Vernon United to a 2-2 draw. With his second goal of the season, Matthew Jilek opened the score with a beautifully placed penalty shot. Adam Friscka had a strong game tying it up with a nice through-ball from Ryan Tattersall.
• U15 boys
The Junior Heat U15 boys travelled to Kamloops hoping to come away with another win against this team. The boys worked hard as a team but the game finished in a 0-0 draw.
