The UBC Okanagan Heat women's basketball team split a pair of exhibition contests in Calgary the weekend of Oct. 4-5.
They beat the Lethbridge Pronghorns 64-60 on Friday. The Heat had a big first quarter against the Pronghorns, jumping out to a 23-8 lead thanks to a 21-0 run. Rookie guard Tsui Tsuzuki had 13 points, four assists and four steals.
Lily Pink and Kelsey Falk each chipped in with 11 points while Pink added 11 rebounds for the double-double.
On Saturday the Heat, shorthanded for the match, lost 76-53 to the host Mount Royal Cougars. Pink led the Heat in scoring hitting double figures (10) again.
UBCO close out their preseason schedule at home when they host the MacEwan Griffins for two games on Oct 17-18.
