After advancing out of the group stage, Canada is looking to claim another international tennis trophy.

Canada is in the Final Eight of the Davis Cup competition, and is looking to repeat from 2022, when they won the legendary trophy for the first time ever.

Vernon's Vasek Pospisil was one of five Canadians named to the roster. He is joined by Felix Auger-Aliassime, Denis Shapovalov, Gabriel Diallo and Alexis Galarneau.

Canada defeated Australia 2-0 in 2022 to win the event, and last year lost to Finland in the quarterfinals. Pospisil so far in this year's Davis Cup has a 1-2 record, with a win in singles and a pair of losses in doubles.

The 34-year-old has played for Canada since 2008, being nominated 27 times, and playing in 34 total ties. He has accumulated a record of 15-14 in singles and 17-13 in doubles.

Canada will face Germany in the quarterfinals, who will be without world number three Alexander Zverev.

If they defeat Germany, a semi-final tilt against either Netherlands or Spain (with Rafael Nadal) will await Canada.

On the other side of the bracket is Italy, Argentina, USA and Australia.

Quarterfinals are slated from Nov 19-21, with semis from Nov. 22-23 before the final on Nov. 24. All matches are in Malaga, Spain.
