Vernon's Cosmo Wilson is moving on to the second round of the WHL playoffs.
Wilson's Victoria Royals defeated the Tri-City Americans four games to one to advance to the next round of the WHL postseason.
Traded from the Moose Jaw Warriors prior to the start of the 2024-25 season, the six-foot, 163-pound defenceman accumulated seven goals and 21 assists in 63 games.
In the first round of the playoffs, Wilson played in four of the five games, registering three assists. The Royals finished the regular season second in the Western Conference with a 40-17-4-7 record and will play the third-seeded Spokane Chiefs in round two.
Wilson, 20, was a second-round pick of the Warriors in the 2020 Bantam Draft and is looking to win his second-straight WHL Championship after lifting the Ed Chynoweth trophy last season with the Warriors.
Game 1 of the second round series begins in Victoria on Sunday, April 13 at 6:05 p.m.
