West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Warriors goaltender Jack Lisson earned his first BC Hockey League win with a shutout on Saturday (Nov. 16) night.
He stopped all 30 shots as the Warriors beat the Okotoks Oilers 5-0 at Royal LePage Place. Lisson’s win, along with Dawson Labre’s shutout against the Penticton Vees two weeks ago, is the first time in team history that the Warriors have posted shutouts in back-to-back home games.
It was a night of firsts for West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç players as new acquisition Tyler Grahme scored his first career BC Hockey League goal and Simon Houge notched his first goal of the season. Other Warriors goals came from Callum Hughes (9), Kelsen Podworny (3), and Dylan Krayer (8).
Each time had 30 shots on goal and also failed to convert on powerplay opportunities, three for West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç and two for Okotoks. West ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç holds down seventh place in the Interior East with a record of 7-9-3-1-0 and 18 points.
The Warriors start a three game Vancouver Island road trip on Wednesday (Nov. 20) night in Port Alberni. They visit Victoria on Friday and Cowichan Valley on Saturday.
