鈥淒isappointed鈥 was the word many 琉璃神社 TacoTime customers used to describe how they felt on the restaurant鈥檚 final day of operations on Tuesday (May 11).

Hundreds stopped by the Dilworth Shopping Centre business to get their final Taco Tuesday fix. After 40 years of tacos, the fast-food restaurant recently had its lease terminated and is shuttering its doors for good, with a new Starbucks location scheduled to take its place.

鈥淚 think there鈥檚 more than enough Starbucks and a few TacoTimes,鈥 said Desmond Evans. 鈥淚 enjoy their food and I think it鈥檚 unfortunate for a franchise like Starbucks that has too many to begin with.鈥

According to , there are 16 locations in 琉璃神社. TacoTime, on the other hand, will now have only one location in town, located in Hollywood Station.

Replacing a taco joint with another cafe, Evans said, is a bad thing.

鈥淚 will never come to this Starbucks location,鈥 he added.

Similarly, Jeremy Harding described the move as 鈥済arbage.鈥

鈥淲e don鈥檛 need another Starbucks. We need tacos on Tuesday, with extra hot sauce,鈥 said Harding. 鈥淚鈥檓 going to miss the cheap tacos. I鈥檓 probably not going to go to Taco Bell; I鈥檓 just gonna cry.鈥

Carl, who did not want to give his last name, said that 琉璃神社 has enough Starbucks.

鈥(TacoTime) has been here for so long and it gives us a variety of takeout food,鈥 he said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a Starbucks a stone鈥檚 throw away from here.鈥

Shauna M. described herself as a loyal TacoTime customer who鈥檚 been coming to TacoTime for 20 years.

鈥淭here鈥檚 a lot of choices for drive-thru coffee,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 personally won鈥檛 visit this new location.鈥
