His best foot forward 鈥 Development advisor Marni Adams of the South Okanagan Women in Need Society fits Penticton鈥檚 Mayor Andrew Jakubeit with a pair of size 13 very red heels in preparation for Friday鈥檚 annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraiser in support of the society. Just one more day to Walk a Mile in Her Shoes.

The annual fundraiser for the is your chance to have some fun while raising money to support the society鈥檚 work. Every dollar raised is invested locally to help save and change lives.

The Top Team Fundraiser (minimum $1500 to qualify) will win a fun afternoon with friends, family or coworkers at the new Smugglers Smokehouse in Penticton. This afternoon will include tasters and wine for your group of 20.

The Top Individual Fundraiser (minimum of $1000 to qualify) will win an Okanagan experience complete with golfing, wine and cuisine! The sunshine is calling!

There will be many other fun prizes just for participating. Sport your favorite red shoes; heels, sandals or even work boots and you might land a prize from Loco Landing or Shoppers Drug Mart.

The walk begins on Friday, July 7 in Penticton鈥檚 Rotary Park at 4 p.m. More information is available on the .
