2 to 4 cm of snow expected on Okanagan Connector

A special weather statement remains in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt on Friday. 

Environment Canada is forecasting prolonged rain and gusty winds this weekend.

鈥淎 strong fall storm system will direct an towards the South Coast, bringing rain to the region,鈥 stated Environment Canada. 

While the rain is expected to ease by Sunday, the storm totals are forecast to reach 30 to 60 mm.

Drivers on the Okanagan Connector are warning others of snow falling on the highway and low visibility. 

Between 2 and 4 cm of snow is expected to fall on Highway 97C on Friday. The fog will dissipate later in the day, however, wind is expected to pick up into the evening.
