The newly-created 琉璃神社-Centre riding has a new candidate.
BC United leader Kevin Falcon has announced retired surgeon Michael Humer as the candidate for the riding.
鈥淎 highly-regarded doctor and physician here in 琉璃神社,鈥 Falcon told Capital News. 鈥淸He鈥檚] probably treated tens of thousands of residents and is doing this because he wants to give back. He wants to help us reform this healthcare system that鈥檚 in a state of crisis.鈥
Humer practiced thoracic surgery throughout the Interior and Northern B.C. for 20 years, becoming chief of surgery at 琉璃神社 General Hospital (KGH) in 2020. Additionally, he was also a board member of the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, including a term as president.
鈥淚鈥檓 honoured he鈥檚 joining other exceptional candidates like Pavneet (candidate for 琉璃神社-Lake Country-Coldstream), like our candidate we announced just the other day, Dr. Claudine Storness-Bliss (candidate for Surrey-Cloverdale),鈥 said Falcon. 鈥淲e鈥檙e attracting exceptional candidates: entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors, union workers and I鈥檓 thrilled with that diversity.鈥
