This year, the need is even greater as the organization aims to raise $30,000 to support local families in need.

The BGC Okanagan needs your help to support more than 200 families with holiday hampers this year.

Its Adopt-A-Family program provides food and gifts to ensure everyone can experience the warmth and joy of the holidays. The organization says with inflation affecting from groceries to housing many BGC Okanagan families are struggling to make ends meet.

鈥淭hrough Adopt-A-Family, we are not just delivering food and gifts we鈥檙e delivering moments of joy and peace of mind,鈥 said Richelle Leckey, community engagement coordinator. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about showing families that they are not alone and their community stands behind them, especially when times are tough.鈥

BGC Okanagan wants to raise $30,000 and thanks to a $5,000 donation from Sentes Automotive, is off to a strong start.

Monetary donations go towards providing e-gift cards, allowing families to choose what they need most. Every dollar counts and the smallest contribution makes a big difference.

Consider sponsoring:

  • Young person ($150)
  • Small family (2-3 people) ($300)
  • Medium family (4-6 people) ($500)
  • Large family (7+ people) ($800)
  • Build a hamper. Coordinate with the Adopt-A-Family team to ensure the hampers reach the right families.
  • Spread the Word. Even if you can鈥檛 donate, sharing the campaign with friends and family can make a huge impact.

To ensure hampers are delivered on time, all donations must be completed by Monday, Nov. 18. For more information or to get involved email adoptafamily@bgco.ca. Donations can be made through the .

鈥淭his program is about more than just giving it鈥檚 about lifting up our community,鈥 added Leckey. 鈥淏y coming together, we can make sure every family feels the magic and generosity of the holiday season.鈥
