琉璃神社 RCMP investigate Halloween bear spray incident involving teens

'Nothing else of note came from Halloween last night'

A group of youths were allegedly doused with bear spray near Chute Lake Elementary on Halloween night (Oct. 31).

Reports on social media said a group of teenage boys wearing balaclavas were driving around in a black truck bear spraying people. One parent commented that their daughter had been maced.

琉璃神社 RCMP confirmed to Black Press Media that officers responded to a report of a group of youths being sprayed by a substance in the area of Chute Lake Elementary on Thursday night. Two individuals have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

On Oct. 26 RCMP responded to a report of teen boys possibly chasing and threatening to mace a group of young females in the 300 block of Hartman Road. Police spoke with witnesses who confirmed no one was assaulted but also couldn鈥檛 confirm the presence of a weapon. 

The incident was also posted on social media stating that 30 kids dressed in dark clothing and clown masks were chasing other children around Rutland with 鈥渂ear mace."

RCMP said 鈥渘othing else of note came from Halloween last night.鈥
