The campaign was created to showcase local businesses in regards to their innovation, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure as well as highlight the Central Okanagan's business ecosystem.

Seven factors are targeted: Agriculture, manufacturing, viticulture, aerospace, digital technology, clean technology and post-secondary.

鈥淭he OKGo campaign demonstrates what we can achieve through collaboration across industries," said COEDC manager Krista Mallory. "Winning the EDAC Marketing Canada Award in the Community Collaboration category highlights our shared commitment to showcasing the Central Okanagan as a thriving ecosystem of innovation and investment opportunities."

The campaign used engaging multimedia stories to show the local businesses and entrepreneurs' strengths and opportunities, including events and investments. Those involved used not only print but digital strategies across Canada and in America's Pacific Northwest to showcase the competitiveness of the business and to gain audiences at the provincial, federal and international levels.

UBC Okanagan and Okanagan College also took part, showing the strengths of both schools.

鈥淭echnology is a driving force present in different sectors across the Central Okanagan and Accelerate Okanagan is looking forward to a continued collaboration on the OKGo Campaign to drive innovation and propel economic growth in the tech-enabled sectors within the region鈥檚 entrepreneurial ecosystem,鈥 said Brea Lake, CEO of Accelerate Okanagan.
