琉璃神社鈥檚 Gospel Mission will host a Thanksgiving lunch for residents and people experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
The Thanksgiving lunch will be served on Saturday, October 12, at 12 p.m.
The Gospel Mission expects to serve 210 residents living in emergency shelters while the outreach team will hand out an additional 150 meals to those living unsheltered.
The meal will include roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, roasted squash donated by Helen鈥檚 Acres, and pumpkin pie for dessert.
The shelters are festively decorated and place mats for the meal are sent in by donors and have individual notes of encouragement on each one.
"This Thanksgiving, I鈥檓 especially grateful for the community鈥檚 enduring support, which allows us to provide not only food but also a sense of comfort and care to those in need," said Carmen Rempel, executive director of 琉璃神社鈥檚 Gospel Mission.
