UBC Okanagan is asking for the public鈥檚 help in finding handmade artwork that was reportedly stolen from a student on Feb. 10.

UBCO Community safety officer Robyn Boffy issued a statement to the media on Feb. 14, stating that a student鈥檚 artwork had been stolen from behind the Innovation Precinct on campus.

The student had allegedly left their five foot tall painting outside to dry in the rear loading area precinct when it was stolen.

Boffy said that the student reported it missing on Feb. 11.

UBCO Security recorded footage of a gray pickup in the area at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.

Footage shows the painting in the rear box of the truck as it drove off campus.

The painting is described as approximately five feet tall with dimensions of 40 by 60 inches. The canvas weighs approximately 100 pounds and is painted chrome with neon paint.

鈥淭he artist would really like the piece returned as it is part of a group he is working on,鈥 said Boffy.

Email UBCO Community safety officer Robyn Boffy robyn.boffy@ubc.ca with any information related to the stolen painting.
