A 琉璃神社 was sent to hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving his motorcycle Sunday evening.
The 琉璃神社 RCMP responded Oct. 30 at 6:55 p.m., to a report of a collision which involved a motorcyclist at the intersection of Richter Street and Cadder Avenue.
Police have determined that a silver Ford Mustang, which had been northbound on Richter Street, initiated a left turn onto Cadder Avenue directly into the oncoming path of a motorcycle which had been southbound on Richter Street.
"The driver of the Ford continued to drive several hundred feet past the scene of the crash before coming to a complete stop," said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.
An off duty RCMP officer at the scene remained with the driver of the Ford who displayed signs and symptoms of possible alcohol intoxication.
鈥淎s a result a demand was made of the driver who provided samples of her breath roadside which resulted in a fail,鈥 said O鈥橠onaghey.
鈥淭he woman was subsequently taken to the 琉璃神社 RCMP Detachment for additional testing where she refused to provide further breath samples to investigators."
The motorcyclist, a 63-year-old 琉璃神社 man, was rushed to hospital where he remains in stable however serious condition.
The driver of the Ford Mustang, a 56-year-old West 琉璃神社 woman, was issued with an Administrative Driving Prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act and faces potential criminal charges related to the crash. She is expected to appear in Court at a later date.
